Twin Brothers Find Medal While Detecting!

Posted by on March 5, 2018

Twin brothers Mike and Mark Mangham have always done so many neat things together. Mike has always wanted to try detecting and got his brother Mark into it. Mike’s first find was a pocketwatch. Both of them having been hunting for 5-6 years and are hooked! The more they find, the more they want to hunt!

One of the things they both have in common is an admiration for local history. That’s the first thing that got Mike into the hobby. You can find them treasure hunting most weekends, engaging in friendly competition with each other. They recently found a medal- an 1920s sterling silver track medal from Shreveport High School. Unlike the other finds, they keep this one separate. Their hope is to find the owner.

Mark said on the medal, “Engraved on the medal is the name “Robert Sullivan,” right above 1923. It was found near where the old Shreveport High School use to be, close to where the Renaissance at Allendale apartments are now in the 1100 block of Allen Avenue.” Read more on these awesome guys and click source below.
