Saint Louis, MO; For all treasure-hunters, this 16,000-square-foot, interactive exhibition unlocks the real world of pirates, a world which had previously been relegated to movies and books and visually romanticized.
Real Pirates tells the true story of the Whydah- a slave ship turned pirate ship that sank off the coast of Cape Cod nearly 300 years ago. At the core of the exhibition are artifacts painstakingly recovered from the ocean floor, including treasure chests of gold coins, jewelry and the most advanced weaponry of the time.

. . .you need this one. Hopefully you folks will find this video as hilarious as I did. It’s amazing the things that turn up when you search for “metal detectors” on YouTube.com! Enjoy!
With the NFL taking a trip to London, it seems only fitting to feature a metal detecting video out of Suffolk, England. By the way, I’d like to be the first to apologize to our friends across the pond for bringing what could have been the worst NFL game in history to your country. With that being said, here’s the video.
This is the most random, bizarre metal detecting video I’ve ever seen ……..so of course, I felt the need to share it. If you’re short on time, just pass this one up, but if you’re bored and have a minute and a half to kill, this is perfect. The video is nothing more than a kid’s view on metal detecting.
Note of caution: The video gets very loud for the last 2 seconds - you’ve been warned.
Chances are, if you’re reading this blog (thank you), you’re a fan of metal detecting and treasure hunting, which in turn means you were probably a fan of the movie National Treasure, starring Nicolas Cage. Well, he’s back. National Treasure 2 is due out in December, but if you can’t wait that long, you can just keep watching the trailer in repeat until the movie comes out.
Are you looking forward to seeing this movie? I’m not sure I remember the original setting anything up for a sequel, but I’m still excited. We’ll have a full review of the movie after it’s released.
I found this video on YouTube today and decided it was worth posting. The sound quality isn’t the best, but it shows Mike Pegg’s metal detecting technique, and he discussing treasure hunting in the UK.
