Millionaire Forrest Fenn, announced today that there is another clue for those eagerly awaiting the precious jewels and gold that he hid in New Mexico. The clue was simply this statement: “The treasure is not in a graveyard.” It may have appeared to be a somewhat eerie and strange clue for the treasure, however, people have been using graveyards as places to dig as well. Since the hunt began, treasure seekers have been approached by federal law enforcement officials that have been trying to prevent them from digging in places where excavation is prohibited, since it digging in some areas is vandalism. One of Fenn’s goals was to get people to fall in love again with the outdoors. Melisa Wieland, mother of 4, states, “It is all about spending time together, about getting away from the ipads and computers.” It seems to me that Fenn’s treasure hunt has had many positive effects with all the fun many have experienced just taking part in the hunt.
